Almost bought a clean looking Challenger in DIP until an inspection showed me what I couldn’t see

Came across a 2017 Challenger Scat Pack at a small dealer in Dubai Investment Park last weekend and I was honestly ready to sign the papers right there, the Shaker hood was gleaming under the showroom lights and the 6.4 sounded like thunder when he fired it up, but I’ve been around long enough to know that a pretty face on a used muscle car usually means someone drove it like they stole it and then polished it up just enough to pass a quick visual, so I decided to book a Dubai Dodge Certified Inspection Service before transferring a single dirham and I’m so glad I did because the inspection report came back with evidence of a previous front end repair that wasn’t on any Carfax, a slight diff whine that was only noticeable at highway speeds which the seller had conveniently drowned out with the exhaust during our test drive, and some stored misfire codes in the ECU that he had cleared before I arrived, honestly the whole thing was a masterclass in why you never trust a shiny car and a smooth talking salesman, I walked away and kept my cash in my pocket and now I’m just going to keep looking until I find one that passes a proper inspection with flying colors, lesson learned the hard way but at least it didn’t cost me a motor or a transmission.
