ParticipantHad my 2016 F Type R for a couple years now and last summer the AC was just about tolerable but I kept telling myself it’s a British car with a big engine crammed in there so maybe that’s just how it is, but we had that really warm spell a few days ago and I was driving back from a meeting in Dubai with the AC on full blast and it felt like the vents were just gently suggesting cool air rather than actually delivering it, and I really don’t want to go through another June to September with my back stuck to the leather and the windows down on the highway just to survive. I suspect it probably just needs a proper evac and recharge because I doubt the previous owner ever touched it and these cars lose a bit of refrigerant over time, but I’m also slightly paranoid about the compressor clutch or maybe a blend door acting up because I’ve read too many Jaguar forum threads about electrical gremlins and I’d rather have someone who actually knows these cars take a look before I start chasing my tail. Found a Sharjah Jaguar AC Performance Service Workshop that seems to get mentioned in a few local groups and I’m curious if anyone here has actually taken their F Type or XE to them for AC work, just want to make sure they use the proper weight of refrigerant and actually know how to access the service ports without scratching up the engine cover like some shops do, because I’m not trying to spend a fortune but I also don’t want a hack job that leaves me stranded with no cold air in July.
