Just got the US spill kit delivered and the box actually weighs something which is already a good sign

Rolled the dice and ordered one of those larger yellow drum top kits after my last post where I was complaining about the flimsy ones we had in the Ajman warehouse and it showed up this morning and I have to say I’m cautiously optimistic because the outer bag isn’t that weird crinkly plastic that rips if you look at it wrong and the whole thing has some actual heft to it when you pick it up which usually means there’s more than just two socks and a prayer inside. I haven’t had to crack it open for a real emergency yet and honestly I hope I never do but I did unzip it just to peek and the pads are individually wrapped which is a small thing that makes a huge difference when you’re in a humid environment and everything tends to fuse together into a giant useless pancake after a few months, so props to whoever packed this thing for understanding that the Middle East is not a climate controlled laboratory. Finding a professional spill kits supplier USA standard in UAE that doesn’t just slap a sticker on a generic bag and call it a day has been more of a headache than I expected but so far this one actually looks like the real deal, the only thing I’m side eyeing is the pair of goggles they included because they have that slightly foggy look like they’ve been in a hot container for a while but I guess I’ll find out if the elastic band crumbles to dust the first time I try to stretch it over my head, which would be a fitting end to my quest for decent PPE honestly. I’ll report back if the thing actually saves the floor or if it just becomes another expensive yellow decoration that we’re afraid to use because it was too pricey to waste on a minor drip.
