I finally bit the bullet and got all four shocks replaced on my SUV after the old ones started leaking at just 50,000 km. Now I’m paranoid about making the same mistake again and I’m trying to understand how much of that wear came from my daily drive through those chopped up sections near the Dragon Mart area. I’ve been reading about vehicle shocks wear on uneven roads and how the constant high-frequency vibrations from those rough patches can cook the internal valving way faster than smooth highway miles. Found a solid explanation on stations.ae that breaks down why Dubai’s combination of sharp speed bumps, sun-damaged asphalt, and random concrete lips at construction sites is basically a nightmare for suspension components. My question is, realistically, if I avoid the worst streets and slow down more, can I get 80,000 km out of these new ones or am I dreaming? Anyone here actually tracked their shock lifespan on similar daily routes?
