My Mini Cooper feels like a pogo stick – anyone found a garage that actually knows these cars?
So I’ve got a 2014 Countryman that’s been my little runabout for getting around Dubai traffic, but lately every time I hit one of those expansion joints on Al Khail Road, the front end just keeps bouncing for way too long and the steering feels vague at highway speeds. Took it to a general garage in Al Quoz and they said the front shocks are gone, but when I asked about the specific part numbers they seemed confused and wanted to just order something generic that “should fit”. I love how my Mini handles normally and I don’t want to lose that go-kart feel just because the shocks are worn out. I’ve been searching for a place that offers Mini Cooper Shock Absorber Service Dubai and actually understands these BMW-based suspensions, not just any random mechanic who’ll throw on cheap parts. Has anyone found a shop that specializes in Minis or at least knows how to source the correct OEM or quality aftermarket shocks like Bilstein or Sachs? I’m willing to pay a bit more for someone who’ll do it right the first time and maybe check the strut mounts and bump stops while they’re in there. Also curious if anyone’s tried those complete strut assemblies where you don’t need a spring compressor, or is that asking for trouble on a Mini? Really appreciate any honest recommendations because driving this thing feels worse than my wife’s old Corolla right now and that’s just sad.
