Touareg brake pad options in Dubai, anyone tried Textar vs TRW and actually noticed a difference

My 2018 Touareg is coming up on its first brake pad change since I bought it used last year and I’m going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out whether I should just stick with whatever the shop recommends or be that guy who brings his own parts because I’ve been reading that the OEM supplier for these big SUVs is either Textar or TRW depending on which week the car was built at the factory in Bratislava. I came across a site while I was searching around for local pricing https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/volkswagen-brake-pad-replacement/ and it got me thinking about whether the aftermarket ceramic options like Akebono are even worth considering out here given our heat and the fact that this thing weighs more than a small house and needs all the stopping power it can get when some genius in a Sunny cuts across three lanes on Sheikh Zayed Road. I’m not trying to turn it into a track car obviously I just want something that doesn’t coat the wheels in black gunk after two days and doesn’t squeal like a haunted house every time I pull up to the valet at Dubai Mall, but I also don’t want to sacrifice initial cold bite because that first stop in the morning when you’re still half asleep and the pads are cold is when you really need them to grab properly. Anyone else with a third gen Touareg or even a Q7 made the switch to something different from the dealer pads and lived to tell the tale without any weird pedal feel or increased rotor wear.
